In Nursery this week, the children have been learning all about ‘Rhyming Words’. Through matching and guessing games, quizzes, poems and stories, the children have explored, discussed, and selected many different words that rhyme.
Of all the activities, the children particularly enjoyed listening to a series of books, including ‘Oi dog!’ and ‘Oi Cat!’ and what giggles these stories brought about…Who knew dragons sat on wagons and elephants sat on smelt pants! The children also took much pleasure from drawing rhyming pictures in their journals. The children came up with some wonderful pictures to draw, including ‘A pig in a Wig’, ‘A Mouse in a House’ and ‘A Dog and a Frog’! Can you think of any funny words that rhyme?
