This year, the Summer Fete will replace our usual Family Fun Day. We thought an after-school event would be easier for families at pick-up time, and we can’t wait to try something new together!

🌱 Terrarium Creations in Action! 🌱
Watch our children bring science to life as they create their own terrariums! After an engaging lesson on plants and terrariums, they dove into botanical research, exploring plant life and learning how to design self-sustaining environments.
From imaginative designs to thoughtful planning, every terrarium showcased creativity and scientific understanding. Choosing finalists was no easy task! The winning designs were then brought to life, transforming ideas into miniature ecosystems.
🌿 Well done to Crysta, Lucy, Prisha & Sofia — here they are in action! 🌿
This hands-on project strengthened plant biology knowledge, encouraged creativity, boosted problem-solving skills, and sparked a deeper appreciation for the natural world. ✨

Class 1G loved welcoming their grown-ups into the classroom for a fun and creative afternoon! 🏠✨
As part of our Humanities learning about houses and homes, the children teamed up with their parents to plan, design and build their own houses using junk modelling. The classroom was full of excitement, teamwork and creativity, with some fantastic structures taking shape.
Thank you to all the parents who joined us and made the afternoon so special, it was a joy to learn and create together! 👏💛

Proud moment alert ‼️
A small group of talented Prep 5 children have been selected to represent our school in the Stockport Grammar School Annual Portrait Competition, which is such a fantastic achievement. This wasn’t an easy choice for Miss Fitzsimons as there were so many wonderful pieces of artwork to choose from.
These pieces stood out for their strong and thoughtful designs, confident and skilful use of materials and techniques and an expressive quality that goes beyond what you’d normally expect at this age.
Each portrait shows real creativity, personality, and that special something that’s hard to define but impossible to ignore.
Join me in wishing them the very best of luck next week. We can’t wait to see how they get on. Whatever the outcome, you’ve already done yourselves (and us) incredibly proud 👏🏽🥳

We’re delighted to announce a special visit from award-winning author Adiba Jaigirdar for our Prep 4, 5 and 6 pupils on Wednesday 4 February!
Adiba will be sharing her brand-new book, Nadia Islam, on the Record — a heart-warming and authentic story following an aspiring journalist who travels to Bangladesh during Ramadan, where her reporting skills are put to the test against the backdrop of climate change. 🌍📝
During her visit, Adiba will talk about growing up in Bangladesh, give tips on writing news stories, and take part in a press-style Q&A, where children can ask their burning questions!

Class 1R had a fantastic time welcoming their grown-ups for a creative afternoon! 🏠🎥

They took part in a chess competition at Bolton School last weekend, representing Cheshire & North Wales U11 in the North Regional Finals, and after coming 2nd they’ve now qualified for the National Finals! ♟️🏆
