There’s so much to look forward to this half of term — from the Prep 6 French Trip 🇫🇷 and our musical theatre production of Matilda 🎭, to Friends of Lady Barn’s Easter Bingo fundraiser and our Stay & Play sessions for families joining us in September.
It’s set to be a busy, exciting and opportunity-filled few weeks ahead.

#ThrowbackThursday 🎬
Today we’re revisiting our 150th anniversary film — a celebration of the Lady Barn journey from Pre-School through to Prep 6.
Told through the eyes of a child and her mother (herself a former pupil), the film beautifully captures what it means to grow up at Lady Barn. From those first tentative steps in Early Years to confident leadership in Prep 6, it reflects a journey shaped by Discovery, Opportunity and Success.
It’s a story about belonging, ambition and continuity — where past and present meet, and where each generation builds on the last.

Food Bank Collection – After Half Term
From Wednesday 25 February to Friday 27 February, we will be collecting donations for Chelwood Foodbank.
The items most needed at the moment are:
• Tins of sandwich meat
• Cordial
• Bin liners
A collection table will be set up at the main drop-off gates (next to Barney Owl), making it easy to donate on your way in.
If you are able to support, we would be so grateful. Together, the Lady Barn community can make a meaningful difference to children and families who need it most.

Early Years September 2026 Entry – Limited Places Available
Looking ahead to September 2026? Our Early Years places are filling quickly, and we now have limited availability.
At Lady Barn, our youngest children benefit from a nurturing, education-led environment where curiosity is encouraged and confidence begins to grow from day one.
To support a smooth start, we have a carefully planned transition programme in place, including our March Stay & Play sessions — giving children (and parents) the chance to feel settled, familiar and excited before September arrives.

This week, as we celebrate Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re launching our Wellbeing Hero Competition — and yes… we’ve let AI imagine what a wellbeing mascot might look like 👀🎨
But here’s the important bit:
We think human imagination is far more powerful.
Now it’s over to our pupils to design a Lady Barn Wellbeing Hero — a character that represents calm, courage, kindness or confidence. Something that could live in our wellbeing spaces and bring a smile to others.
Entries in after half-term — we can’t wait to see what you create.

Our Prep 1 artists have been diving into the life and work of Claude Monet, and the results are simply beautiful.
Inspired by Monet’s sailboat paintings, the children created their own artwork with incredible care and focus.
They thoughtfully painted the sea and sky, paying close attention to the horizon line, and explored perspective by showing smaller boats in the distance. Using watercolour for soft, flowing backgrounds and pencil crayon for detail, each piece shows confidence, creativity, and growing artistic skill.
We are so proud of how carefully they worked, how bravely they experimented with new techniques, and how beautifully they brought their ideas to life. They are true little impressionists in the making 🛶🌊#lbhsopportunity
