✈️ A huge thank you to Mr Kunal Mehta for giving our week a flying start with his truly inspirational assembly! 🌟
Mr Mehta shared his experiences as an airline pilot and spoke about the skills needed to fly an airliner, showing our pupils how those same skills can be applied in business and everyday life. His highlight of the morning was seeing the pupils’ excitement, curiosity, and thoughtful questions – a reminder that today’s pupils are tomorrow’s innovators, leaders, and entrepreneurs. 🚀
It was fascinating to hear how the soft skills Kunal developed throughout his career have helped him navigate challenges both professionally and personally. His message about finding a different flight path when faced with obstacles, and that being brave doesn’t always mean flying straight through the storm, left a lasting impression on our pupils. 💡
The assembly ended with plenty of excellent questions from our pupils, and some lucky children even received some airline accessories! 🎁✈️ Thank you, Mr Mehta, for an unforgettable morning of inspiration and learning. 👏

🏐✨ Claudia and Clara (6B) came out victorious in the Sisters in Sport National Netball Cup
Representing Kingsway Power at Loughborough University, they powered through the regional stages over the past few months and went on to compete against the top 8 clubs in England.
After a fantastic final showdown against a strong Hartlepool side, they came out victorious! 🏆🔥

From LBHS to the Somme 🌹
During a recent visit to the Thiepval Memorial, former Lady Barn pupil Louis uncovered a powerful connection to our school’s past - finding Lieutenant Gerald Edward Levinstein, another LBHS former pupil, commemorated among the missing of the First World War.
Born in Chorlton in 1887, Levinstein later studied at Rugby School before serving on the Western Front with the 17th Battalion of the Manchester Pals. He was killed during the attack on Flers in October 1916, during the Somme Offensive. 🌺🕊️
He is one of thirty names listed on the Lady Barn memorial, recently returned to school after careful research and restoration by @mcrmuseum and @officialuom
Thank you to Louis and to @cheadlehulmehs, for paying their respects on behalf of the Lady Barn community. 💙
