Sports Coach

Job Description

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and suitably qualified sports coach to join our PE team and holiday club provision on a permanent basis, working 33.25 hours per week. 

We offer flexibility for this role, with the option to work during term time only or all year round.  

During term time, the core hours are 33.25 hours per week during term time are 10am to 5.15pm Monday to Thursday and 10am to 4.45pm on Friday.   

For those who could be available year-round, the candidate would provide a multi-sports provision for the School’s holiday club during school holidays, working from 9am to 4.15pm Monday to Friday. 

As the successful candidate will primarily be required to teach girls’ games during term time, only female candidates will be considered suitable for this position. This is a genuine occupational requirement (as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

This is a rare opportunity to play a role in the ongoing development of the school’s sport provision at Lady Barn House School. The main aspects of the role include;

  • Coaching our pupils in sport alongside the Director of Sport, Head of Girls’ Games and the PE Teacher.
  • Assist the Head of Girls’ Games in the coordination and delivery of the Girls’ Games teaching programme.
  • Assist with sporting activities and fixtures during and after school, and occasionally on weekends. 
  • Coaching Physical Education lessons to pupils aged between 3 and 11 (either alongside another member of the PE teaching staff or the class Teaching Assistant). There may be occasions where the Sports Coach will take classes/groups on an individual basis, however, support in the planning of these lessons will be given prior and evaluations will take place for their professional development.

Holiday Club Assistant

Job Description

We are looking for passionate, energetic, and creative Holiday Club Assistants to join our amazing team! This is your chance to work with a fantastic group of children in our established Holiday Club, providing a fun, safe, and exciting environment for children aged 3-11 years during the school holidays (except Christmas).

If you’re someone who loves working with children, has a flair for fun and engaging activities, and is eager to be part of an enthusiastic team, then we want to hear from you!

What You'll Do:

  • Help run a dynamic Holiday Club for children aged 3-11, creating an atmosphere that’s safe, fun, and full of adventure.
  • Plan and run exciting activities that encourage children’s development and spark their imaginations.
  • Build fantastic relationships with children, staff, and parents, being the friendly face that parents trust for updates and enquiries.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, including assisting with snacks, meals, and hygiene routines.
  • Be a positive role model, setting great standards for behaviour and helping children grow in independence.
  • Provide basic first aid when needed and ensure incidents are documented correctly.

What We're Looking For:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent) – essential for working with children in the Early Years.
  • A proven passion for working with children aged 3-11, with a creative and enthusiastic approach.
  • Paediatric First Aid training (or a willingness to get trained).
  • Experience planning and leading fun activities that cater to children’s needs.
  • A proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude and a team player who works well under direction but isn’t afraid to use their initiative!
