Learning Time and Money
BackIn Year One, we have been learning about time and money. Last week, the children got to grips with making and writing the time using o'clock and half past. We looked at why it is important to know the time, and the various times we do things in our daily lives. This week we have had so much fun learning about money. We have learned all about coins up to the value of £2 doing various activities. To begin with, the children looked at coin recognition and which coin had the least/most value. We then looked at how to make different amounts using objects from the toy shop. When we revisit money next term, we will move onto working out change. The Year One children have really engaged in the practical side of time and money, and it’s always wonderful to hear the children speak so fondly of a topic!
