Our Prep 2 Woodland club have been busy assessing the changing landscape around our woodland area, especially the river that runs from Bruntwood into Cheadle. The recent heavy rainfall has meant that the water level rose considerably and logs, branches and even trees have been washed downstream. We noticed that by observing the sand deposits on the riverbanks, we could see how the water level came up to our woodland pathways and, in some cases, eroded and changed how it looked before! By finding large tree trunks downstream, I think we all have a new found respect for the power of nature!
