BackThere are several good sources of advice on matters including online safety and helping keep
children safe.
Very interesting online safety advice is available from CEOP.
The Digital Parenting site covers a range of issues in the digital world and offers advice from
Vodafone.
The UK Safer Internet Centre provides sensible advice.
Safer Internet Day 2025 is a key day in school for reminding children about the importance of online safety.
Discussion of Online Safety
We would encourage you to discuss online safety and ways of keeping safe online with your
children. You may wish to discuss the following topics, if appropriate, given the age of your children:-
-
Cyberbullying and reporting concerns (Talk to a trusted adult)
-
Accessing websites safely (Use SafeSearch on Google etc)
-
Reporting misuse (Ask a trusted adult to take a screen shot and report appropriately)
-
Protecting identity (Avoid giving away personal details)
-
Password Use (Use strong passwords and keep them private)
-
Appropriate wear (Children should be conscious of what they are wearing - if using video conferencing software with friends)
