Chinese New Year Celebrations!
Back
On Sunday, 2 February, a group of Prep 2 and Prep 3 pupils represented Lady Barn as part of Manchester's famous Chinese New Year celebrations. We were honoured to be invited to participate in the festivities, and the children were keen to showcase their talent and their enthusiasm for Chinese language and culture in a wonderful performance at the Central Library.
They did a fantastic job of introducing themselves, singing a selection of songs, and telling the audience all about the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac - all in Mandarin!
The crowd were delighted, and our host, from Manchester-based Chinese organisation Bowen Education, told us she was deeply touched by the children's passion for Chinese language and culture, and that their performance was a standout moment.
Well done to the children for all the hard work and dedication they put into preparing for this very special event! And a heartfelt thank you from me to all the parents, and to Mr and Mrs Slade, for their help and support on the day.
