Spotlight on our Head of Marketing, Admissions & Communications, Mrs Lachevre
Back
1) What's something about you that most people at Lady Barn might not know but would find interesting or surprising?
I am an aeroplane enthusiast, which stems from living near Manchester Airport all of my life, and my time spent as a cadet Sergeant in the Air Training Corps as a teenager. I even worked in the aviation industry in my twenties, as cabin crew, which was a wonderful opportunity to see the world for free!
2) If you could switch roles with a pupil for a day, what class or subject would you choose, and why?
That's a tough one, because I absolutely loved everything at prep school! But I'd have to pick Humanities, because I love History. I'm particularly amazed by Roman engineering and architecture, and recently took the family to Rome to visit the famous Forum and Colosseum, to bring history to life for them.
3) Can you share a favourite school memory or a funny moment that stands out to you?
I remember that one year, at our school Summer Fair, it was so hot that the playground started to melt and our Year 6 stall's table legs began to sink into the tarmac! There was a mad dash around to pull them out before the table was stuck forever, right in the middle of the netball court!
4) What's your go-to way to relax and unwind after a busy day at Lady Barn?
I love to read, and get through a book every couple of weeks. My husband says I should buy a Kindle for the amount I read, but I love turning the pages of a paper book.
5) Do you have any quirky or unique decorations or traditions that make your workspace special?
I have a mini Guy Diamond troll on my desk, just because he's glittery and he makes me smile! I also have a piece of amethyst, along with a plant or two; I'm told they boost creativity and productivity, which are both useful attributes in the Marketing, Admissions and Communications office!
